WHY THE ROADSHOW IS IMPORTANT
Sport and physical activity provide a positive outlet for personnel to manage the pressures of a life in service and are powerful tools that develop individuals on a personal and professional level.
In careers that offer dynamic and varied experiences with regular relocations, communities for sport provide consistent social connection, fostering teamwork and a sense of belonging, building morale and reducing loneliness and isolation through enduring friendships.
These events strengthen our connection with RAF stations across the UK and provide an opportunity to see first-hand how our funding is making a meaningful difference to personnel.
Alongside encouraging participation in sport and physical activity, we’ll be highlighting the importance of mental wellbeing to our overall health. Working in partnership with station medical teams, we’re offering health and wellbeing support throughout the roadshow. Our team will also be on hand to discuss access to sport, charitable support and how you can give back by playing the RAF Sports Lottery – our charity’s primary fundraising tool.
Ultimately, the roadshow is about participation and connection – bringing together sport, wellbeing, and community for all RAF personnel.
