RAF Hockey

RAF Hockey Association

The RAF Hockey Association (RAFHA) aims to grow the game of hockey across all members of the RAF and its associated organisations, helping people stay fit, active, and connected through physical sport.

We have something for everyone, from complete beginners to players who have gone on to represent their country at international and even Olympic level, as well as coaching development and officiating opportunities. Our five representative teams compete at Inter-Service level: Men’s, Women’s, Men’s Masters (over 35s), Women’s Masters (over 35s), and a Men’s Under-25 side. Our Men’s and Women’s teams have also combined to take on the England and Wales Mixed teams, and thanks to the fantastic sponsors and supporters of our sport, all our players get access to some top hockey coaching, equipment and facilities, and every few years travel overseas for hockey tours. Recent trips have taken us to Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and India.

If you’re looking to get involved, come along to our RAF Hockey Championships at RAF Halton every July. It’s two days of mixed hockey played in a fun and inclusive environment. You don’t need to arrive with a team, we mix everyone up, making it a great way to meet new people and play lots of hockey over two days with coaching provided by coaches on the England coaching development programme.

You can also join your Station hockey team and take part in the annual RAF Inter-Station competitions and engage with our sponsors and supporters, or compete in monthly regional leagues against other Service units.

Whether you’re picking up a stick for the first time or are already a seasoned player, there’s a place for you in RAF Hockey.
