RAF Triathlon Association

The RAF Triathlon Association (RAF Tri) provides support to every RAF triathlete to help them achieve their personal multi-sport objectives.

Triathlon has some unique advantages that many other sports don’t, and this is thanks to the simple fact that it features three sports rolled into one. While this might seem intimidating at first, training in multiple disciplines (also known as cross-training) can help strengthen different parts of our body, stay engaged, and prevent burnout. Triathlons offer a comprehensive test of endurance and versatility, appealing to athletes looking for a multifaceted and challenging sport.

We have two main subdisciplines:

Duathlon, which combines running and cycling (run–bike–run)
Cross triathlon, which features open-water swimming, mountain biking, and trail running in off-road terrain.

By becoming a triathlete you will also be joining a sociable and supportive community of like-minded individuals.

RAF Tri has a large committee focussed on providing services to the membership – from beginner triathletes to the experienced through the provision of exclusive training opportunities, racing opportunities and arange of training/racing clothing and equipment that is the envy of the other Service’s Tri Associations.
